Ebro Catfish Excursions
about us
and
about the fishing
Our location is four kilometeres from Tortosa with excellent access to Bars, Restraunts and many of the most productive fishing areas on the lower Ebro.
If staying with us and you want to travel we strongly reccommend you have a car, there is no public transport and 4k is to far to walk Back from a pub or cafe.
We keep a spare boat for fishing so there should never be any problem
getting on the river.
Tortosa is two hours south of Barcelona and one hour south of Reus / Salou Airports. A further hour north is Girona. We are two hours north of Valencia. The motorway toll road AP7 links all airports and Tortosa is ten minutes from the motorway.
Many of our Catfishers come to Reus, obviously because its close but mostly because the flights from some of the London airports via Ryanair can be very cheep, especially when booking well in advance and avoiding high season.
Julie is an excellent cook, just tell her what you dont like and she will keep you well fed. In season we usually eat on our outdoor dining room, barbeques and occasionally traditional spanish. Bring your own toiletries no need for anything else.
Andy your guide is a very experienced angler, he has fished worldwide, used to like his Salmon and Trout and was a top flight matchman for many years. now well settled in the Ebro valley understands the river with no equal and seems to catch fish so regular that it cannot be luck. Andy is considered as the most successful guide on the Lower Ebro.
Your hosts Julie and Andy offer optional farmhouse style accommodation, Bed and Breakfast, evening meals and packed lunches. One twin and one single room. Perhaps a little more at a push. During the hotter months most of our meals are taken on one of the patios, very often barbeques and in
July and August thats most days
If thats not to your liking we have an affiliation with a local hotel and a friend has a self catering apartment at a
modest cost.
